Must have apps for the N95
Alright, with the N95 coming soon(hopefully), I would like to form a list of must have apps everyone uses on their S60. I will continue to update this thread as people post.
Check out our software store for more applications!

wow im surprised there ar bittorrent programs for mobiles. Seriously What could you possibly download via bittorrent for a mobile, because most stuff would either be way over 2 gigs (no room and it would take forever) or not in the converted video format. Well I guess you could download a cd if you really didn't have access to a computer. So there arn't any other voip programs, i may be looking for a way to circumvent paying for long distance calls. Does skype work on symbian, (i know they have it on the netgear phones).

fring looks ok I guees, but you still have to pay per minute when making edge calls and have a data packege with your service provider, does it let you do fringOut?
edit: nevermind, it looks like the cost the list in their chart is just an approximation of the data cost to your service provider. Their faq says software and calls are always free, sweet!

Can someone please explain in lamens terms how VoIP would work on the N95?
I have never used VoIP before on a PC so I'm new to it. Does the person you are calling have to have Fring as well? (Is that what P2P means?) Will I need Skype as well? (Which is no longer free I heard.) Will I be able to do everything strictly over 802.11g? Since I don't have a data plan and data use is very expensive through my carrier, I would like to make calls over the wireless internet connection in my home. Can this truly be free and unlimited?

I'd love some input on this as well. I've not used VOIP ever, let alone on my Nokia. If no one around here is familiar with it, I'll bite the bullet and install a service on my s60. No wifi on it, but I have an unlimited data connection. Cingular can finance our learning experience. :)

we do need to figure this out... P2p stands for peer to peer and is a type of file sharing program like limewire where a user sends a file directly to another user. My understanding of the fring program after carefull inspection of their diagram is that it works over both wifi and data, is free for both, but can only be used to contact other fring users or voip users with the programs they list( skype etc)...but that could be wrong, so lets wait snd see what pseaudofinn finds out.
