N95-2 loose slider fix, and tape application tips
Following Sp00ks great guide/thread on how to stiffen up your N95-1's loose slider HERE , i decided to carry it out on my N95-2, and document my progress, with photos, which I hope will accompany Sp00k's, as after following the guide, and successfully repairing my N95-1 loose slider, I felt confident enough to carry out the same job on my N95-2, and add some tips, which I found made the job a little easier, not to mention any slight differences there were between models.
All photos can be seen HERE, password is N95Users, there are descriptions for each photo, which can be seen when viewed as a slide show. The photos are in reverse order however, and I can't figure out how to change that, also a couple of typos in descriptions, which I cannot seem to be able to edit, but not to worry.
Anyway, main photos illustrating tape application method to slide rail.
Cut a small piece of PVC tape, and carefully apply to to the rail (The lip)
Once you have attached the tape to the rail, firmly run your fingernail up and down the rail, ensuring a good bond.
Then, what i did, to make things easier, was to stick the rail, with oversized tape to a hard plastic surface(One I didnt mind scratching)
The, carefully, using your scalpel, trim the tape...
Once trimmed, you will have a rail looking like this..
Again, run your fingernail, or anything small enough with a small edge, run along the edge of the rail, ensuring the tape is well stuck.
then, if like me, you have any overhang, finally trim tape again with your scalpel, this time, like photo below, running your black(scalpel along the rail un a slow, up and down motion, like cutting with a saw).
Put it all back together, and you will have a nice tight slider
Thanks for reading!

I guess the tape you used may of been too thin? There is no play at all now with either of mine mate, both rock solid. I highly recommend PVC Tape (Electrical tape), good quality stuff, and not the cheap stuff. The more expensive type are both thicker, and has more sticky appeal.!

awesome job mate, great photos too. How easy is it to take apart? I'm off for the next week and really want to do the red light gone fix but I'm still a little hesitant. I'm a computer engineer and have worked on many small if not tiny electrical devices but none were ever mine so I never cared about breaking them

Its very easy mate, you just have to take your time, and gently prise the back casing away as per tips guide, running your fingernail down the edges (Or proper plastic, nylon tool). You can feel the resistance of the sticky pads, and actually hear them coming unstuck. I have quite surprised myself in all honestly, and had put the job off long enough, but would happily do many more in the future. A friend of the family needs his doing, so will do that one with confidence now.
Putting the tiny screws back was the most fiddly thing, but again, just be patient, and take your time, and all will be well.
On a scale of 1 to 10 for difficulty, I give it a 3 (10 being the most difficult).
