using just the camera?

i am taking my N95 travelling with me and to cut down on weight i want to just take my N95 and use the camera on it.
i will usually have my phone off to save battery life
so i was wondering if there any way (long shot) to just turn on the camera without the whole phone?
if not what is the quickest way to get the phone up and running from being off to taking a shot?
Cheers
WN

wish there was, but i'm afraid not. you could set your phone to offline mode, this will save the battery as the phone will not be scanning for networks

Yep, put the phone in offline mode, make sure WiFi scanning is off, don't have any apps running you don't need. When you switch it off and on it will stay in offline mode.

I would't worry about leaving it on in that mode, battery drain will be minimal, possibly even less than continually booting it up.

Yep, like the guys said. An all black theme may help a little too. Best thing would be a portable charger, the ones that take AA batteries are pretty small and light and may suit your needs.
