Is there any free Voice and Turn-by-turn navigation service for n95-2 8b?
Hi all .I recently got Nokia N95-2 8GB.I don't have any subscription contract yet so i am using
my prepaid sim card.
I wonder if there is any free service that navigate me to destination using voice
and turn-by-turn just like car navigation devices(tom tom,packard bell compasseo 600,..) ?
My dad has Packard bell compasseo 600 navigator in his car and he doesn't have to have any subscription contract.
So i guess there should be something smiler for nokia n95-2 8GB since both have GPS receiver.Hope you guys help me get answer
to above questions.Thanks

I used to use Nav4All - Free gps navigation for your mobile phone! not checked on it recently and I'm not sure if it uses the internal GPS either. I used to use aHollux external.
Free though.

Oh yeah, it does require internet access. Tiny amount in fairness, but yeah, it will cost you unless you have a data plan. You can donwload the app over wifi, but the maps and route all come down the data connection. (When you use it, it's permanently connected)
The software doesn't actually do the routing you see, it's like a client and their server serves all the maps and route to you.
I mean, it's free, but MAPS is way better.

Any navigation software that doesnt need paying for has to have the maps downloaded as you go, which means you have to have a data plan (or its pirate software).
If you want one that doesnt use data, you have to pay.
Garmin (if you dont have an 8GB), Copilot 7, McGuider (humm) or Route66.
Nokia maps is not suitable for those without dataplans.

Yes, but unless you use a hack your not going to get it on there, as its locked to memory card.
