Hello bbs and welcome.
It would help if you show some details of your gadget i.e. model, f/ware version etc. Makes it easy for others to suggest mods and stuff.
In the "Introduce yourself" section you can fill out these details...but depending on what firmware the phone came with, I would get the latest available for that model to start with.
Cheers.

Well i got my n95 from rogers a week or so ago, the first thing i reccomnd doing is DEBRANDING it.
the ROM rogers puts on the phone is an OLD release version, its outdated, and runs extremly slow (the phone lags and has trouble running 3rd party apps)
so you should debrand it and update to the newest firmware (2.0 something) the n95 from rogers comes with 1. something, its about 1 year old, its like the release fw.
Other then debranding ,i have just installed a bunch of apps like opera, and themes, msn etc..

just go the the firmware updater, and yeah you have the same firmware my n95 had.
and the updater will say no update avalible.. you need to change your product code and then update the n95.
but be aware, debranding does void your manufactures warrenty (probb your rogers too)..
soo yeah, theres plenty of tutorials here on how to do it. so just search it up i guess.

uhh lemme try and find it..
i figure you have the 8gb black rogers, same as mine so.. here it is..
0561948
.. it came from this link Nokia N95 and N95 8GB Product codes [Debranding] - All About Symbian Forums
a guy gives it further down the page, its the 8gb nam n95-4 product code.
i used the exact same code and it worked fine for me, let me update my device and stuff..
btw, u do realize this voids your nokia/rogers warrenty right?..

Just to add a cautionary note to UnleasheD reply...If your phone is not broke, don't fix it...There are numerous Apps Freeware/Cheap that do work with most "as is" phones and make 'em flash but, on the other hand, if it's turning the TV on/off and unlocking your car doors at random then you might wanna get that firmware upgraded...
Cheers

Yeah.. but the rogers firmware/rom compared to the updated fw.. its like day and night.
The old fw is soooo slow, and my apps that i used to download were slow as well, upgrade to 2.01 and no problems ever since, phone is lightning fast too.
Your call on debranding+upgrading.. but for me, i couldent live with how slow the phone was.. compared to my freinds n95 which was running 2.01 ..
