Applied Protech Invisible Shield and now screen is wet!

Hey guys,

I just got the invisble shield from protech the other day. I applied it carefully.

I've waited over 24+ hours, possible 30 hours now before inserting the battery and turning on the phone.

I was so excited until I hit the nokia screen. It is clear that the screen is messed up. It is wet. Am I screwed? Should I wait a little longer to see if the water dries up? Could I open up my phone and see if I can dry the screen?

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

edit: what screwdriver would I use to unscrew the screen?

Sorry for not being more descriptive... it's n95 8gb-4.

It got wet because you are suppose to apply a little bit of water to the screen to apply the shield.

In my opinion water and mobile phones don't mix very well,i'd of purchased a protector that doesn't need water,Martin Fields protectors for example.

There are few types of that protector...I think the one for Nokia you dont wet the screen because the screen is deep in the frame ..the one for the iPhone you do wet it as it is a flat surface ..are you sure you bought the right one ?

Yes you are suppose to wet the screen, that's what the instructions say. Also, a few members on the forums have done the same.

I guess the water went thru the screen. :( Does any one know what screwdriver to use to dismantle the screen? Thanks!

Same thing happened to me. There's apparently some fine piece of paper under the LCD screen that if it gets wet your have to replace the whole screen. I don't have the money to replace it so I just try to dry it best I can.

Now this sounds crazy, but this works. Place your phone in a bag of rice for like a day. It should absorb alot of the water. It cleared up most of my screen, but I can still see a stain if I have a clear white screen; otherwise, I see nothing.

Hope this helps.

So even if I open up the screen, I won't be able to dry up the whole thing? :(

I did what the instructions told me, dip the film in water and apply it on. I guess the water just went thru the crack or something.
