Curious...what's the holdup for N95-3 Firmare update
Keeping a close eye on the happenings of S60 and Nokia lately, I have notice that several performance update/improvements have been applied to the -1 and -2 variants of the N95. I am wondering why the -3 has not seen any.
I understand that obviously the -1 was in dire need of many of the improvements in the v20 update to which the -3 with more RAM and battery capacity was better equipped. However, now I hear the -2 (8GB) also received a performance update and it is certainly a newer release than the -3 (I think). Additionally, as I understand it, not all -2's have the update available to them (based on region).
From the experts here, why is this situation happening? I know each device is tailored per region but overall the guts of each N95 are relatively the same, with the only real differences (that the OS cares about) being the data radio, and storage capacity.
Any opinions as to why -3 hasn't been given more update love?
TIA!

Yeah- I've been *****ing about this for quite some time now.
I don't know what the deal is. I haven't heard anything, and I've been asking everyone.

Just a sidetrack here, to help my understanding.
N95-1 is the original, mine, the one with all the woes.
N95-2 is the 8GB version, no card slot, bigger screen?
N95-3 is the Regular N95 with flush camera, better battery, raised media buttons and more RAM?
Is that right?

I'm puzzled what the hold up is. It would seem to be a simple recompile of the firmware for the N95-3. Maybe it's actually a good thing and they are working out bugs from a stringent test cycle.

They will probably release a new firmware for both the -1 and -3 next so both can use flashlite 3 etc me thinks

One would think so... firmware revisions have come and gone past the N95-3 for some time now.
