Just been reading this sellers listing on eBay, and sounds interesting, their feedback is good too, with many having experienced buying a fake card, and discovering this guys ad too late.

Many of the advertised 2GB, 4GB and 8GB players, flash disk drives and memory cards are really 512MB and 1GB disguised as 2GB, 4GB or 8GB players, flash drives and memory cards.

In some cases the real memory capacity is less then 512MB, its a few hundred MB.

This also includes memory cards with an advertised memory of 16GB. The real memory capacity can be as small as 32MB.

There is a file installed on the player, flash disk drive and memory card called a Hack. The hack file tricks or spoofs Windows and the player, flash drive and card into showing the advertised memory capacity and not the real capacity.

There are very few people who know about the scam and without checking their device, people have no idea their 2GB, 4GB or 8GB device or 16GB card could be 1GB or less.

For players, the scam is limited to players known as clones or Chipods. Clones and Chipods are players that are advertised as having music, video, FM radio, and a voice recorder. The voice recorder can also record music from the FM radio.

The scam does not effect genuine Apple iPods.

Guaranteed way of testing. Upload enough to the drive/player/whatever to satisfy yourself that it can hold the advertised amount. (remembering that even genuine 8GB drives hold less when formatted)
