Now that it's out......has anyone who updated notice any big difference?
I like upgrades...but from what I hear is in V21 (streaming flv), I'm not sure it's worth the hassle

If you are desperate to watch youtube etc in the browser then yes it is a worthy upgrade, otherwise, it's probably not worth the bother. emTube does a pretty good job anyway.
However, Nokia are claiming improved standby times, so if the battery life is a major problem for you, it could also be worth the upgrade. Will wait and see if there is any real time improvements though....

Most of you will already be aware of the following... But for those new to upgrading firmware... A little advice...
Before updating your firmware, using a recent version of PC-Suite, back-up your phone memory to PC. Also back-up from your phone & your card (or extra memory), any pics & audio that you need, by transferring these directly to your PC (not through PC-Suite)... Do NOT back-up any installed programs. Now format the card or extra memory, using the phone to do so. There's no need to format the phone itself as the update process does this.
The reason behind doing this is because some programs, even when installed on the phone, still try to reference data stored on the card, this can cause problems when the phone reboots after the upgrade, with a fresh operating system.
WARNING! It may be wise to remove the memory-card whilst updating your firmware... See this post!
Whilst updating, it's best to power the phone from the mains during this time as a low battery during what is a fairly long process can 'brick' your phone! It's also advised that you connect to your pc directly through the pc USB port... NOT through a hub.
After the update is completed and the phone reboots, you're strongly advised to restore ONLY your contacts and perhaps your calendar... NOT 'Settings', as this has been known to cause problems... Though some seem to get away with it!
Best advice is to restore only the minimum and then build the phone contents & settings from scratch, as though it was new 'out of the box'.
When you have the phone set up as you want it, don't forget to do another back-up using PC-Suite (and also, using the phone itself, to your additional memory, to be doubly sure)... Just in case you later install a 'rogue program' and can't get rid of it!! ;)

I used that once, then realised despite me selecting WiFi as the access point, it had downloaded a bunch of data over GPRS anyway. Came straight off again after that

As Rusty says, be VERY careful when streaming Flash files to your phone, it can soon use a LOT of data, as he found out! ;)
Make sure that you have a good data-plan before you do this!

Maps v2 is still in beta testing though..... Doubt they would put beta software out to normal consumers.

Nothing I have read about V21 is interesting to me. I have no problems with V20 and to be honest CBA to install all the programs I use to a new installation.
I will miss this update and wait for a better one to come before I start afresh.
/me has put his foot down.
