Sure it has, I'd gladly swap my MMS, user-replaceable battery, 3g & 3.5G data-streaming, 5MP camera, in-built GPS, etc. etc. just for the joy of a bit better browsing experience... at snails-pace, without a Wi-Fi connection nearby... Yep, I sure would! ;)

Indeed, if I write a phone off its because its not suitable for me. Absolutly nothing to do with brand.
Having said that, the iphone isnt suitable for ANY of my family.
It doesnt have MMS (among other things), which while rarely used, can sometimes be very handy.
And apart from anything of the phone, the price is an absolute joke considering what you get.
I am working on getting them all on GPS enabled symbian phones, the 6110 or above, since the 6110 is the cheapest GPS phone (free on almost any contract) out there. That way we all have the ability to send the exact location and navigate to it. Can be extremely handy, trust me.
Reason why many people are annoyed at the iphone is the marketing it got, and what Jobbsy said. I.e. its a next gen smartphone, etc etc. Its quite simply not, its an outdated phone in every way apart from UI.
This rightly offends people who do have proper smartphones, the N95 truely was next gen.
Anyway, before it turns into an iphone flamewar, can someone explain what was great in that youtube video? I didnt see anything amazing?

I got confused with the video. At first i thought the little red dot was moving about, but watching it again, its just the Nokmote app going through the gallery.
The red dot moving about was more impressive tho :-)

O for sure I agree completely. But a lot of people don't need fancy phones anyways, just something that makes calls, just like some rich people drive regular 4 door sedans.

Well right now a lot of operators are playing hardball and saying " you" to apple's kickback agreement. So I think Steve Jobs is likely reevaluating the iphone's distribution method. Cause lets face it, he can't gaurntee exclusivity (the unlocking process now consists of installing 1 app, connecting the phone to your pc, and then hitting the unlock button) anymore, so might as well go it unlocked. And right now I think steve is much more concerned with salvaging any kind of deal with china than getting the iphone to canada or any other small market like the netherlands.

Well in america an iphone is about 2-3 hundred dollars cheeper than a n95, which makes sense, as it has inferior capabilities. But in europe, I completely agree with you, theres no way id spend 400 pounds on an iphone when i can get a better phone for less.

At least you've just admitted the N95 is a better phone, and if you mean FREE then yes it is £400 cheaper......

I have both an iphone and a n95 although the n95 is by far my main phone, but the browser and screen are far better on the iPhone than they will ever be on the n95, so I use them together with the n95 being the hotspot for the iPhone, giving me what doesn't yet exist, a 3g iPhone :-)
I love them both but if I carry just one its the n95 every time
by the way I got the iPhone on the £169 deal and its now happy on orange payg, it will never be officially activated
