It didn't work on my N95-3 until I just upgraded to the new firmware that was released yesterday.

Nokia N95-3 (North American model) firmware update version 20.2.011 is now available | The Mobile Gadgeteer | ZDNet.com

It's not so accurate on the acceleration, but good for showing to friends.

The over tilt protection when going off-road is priceless as the Mitsi Pajero had got tilt meters but no warning sound when you're reaching the limit.

The only other thing i'd want is to be able to adjust the tilt angle the warning comes on, can't find the settings.

Great app.
Car Meter actually has some potential ... if only:

1. You could turn off those annoying sounds
2. You can set your own tolerances for the warning levels
3. It remembered the Maximum value of 'g' in each axis or tilt in each axis

Oddly enough I was actually thinking of using it on my Suzuki GSXR 1000 .. the tilt meter appealed to me, so I can tell how far over i'm banking the bike (ok my tyres are a reasonable give away on that)

Lets hope it's developed a little further ;)

Yeah but probably not. I was browsing through the apps store on my brother's new iPhone 3G and someone has made a beautiful gmeter app for it. There are actually some really cool apps that have been made for the iPhone recently that could have been easily made for the N95. Doesn't make me happy.

I decided to email the above to the developer of CarMeter ... I got an email back:

Hello,

thanks a lot =). I know that there are a lot of issues remaining but it was
our
very first (university) software project and we choose not to carry on with
the project.
We are (trying) to focus on mobi-pad.com now.

But your ideas are logged if we start working on it again (or some lower
semesters) =).

Kind regards,
Alex
I guess if we show them that there is some support out there they may well bang in a few extra hours?

Sounds promising. Now they might know that it has potential and people actually would use it if they just developed it a little bit more.

I'm waiting for a software to measure 0-100kmh times and 1/4 times Gtech style. the car meter doesn't really do any good but it's cool to play with..
