Nokia is stupid? Lol... okay.
Wasn't it Nokia that released the tools for developers to start playing around with this sensor?
Do you guys really think that the screen rotation thing was just done in the last few days, implemented on the N82 and shipped to a blogger? I think Nokia had been working on this a while before Samir.
At any rate, I think what Samir is doing is fantastic- especially the fact that he's doing this for free! But I don't this he's discovered and unlocked this feature. I think it's supremely strange that the accelerometer is just now coming to light- but it's even more strange to think that Nokia is copying Samir's idea. He didn't invent the sensor. I don't really see how you can say he's making Nokia look stupid. That's just odd.
That being said, Nokmote is WICKED- and I can't wait to donate some more money to get my hands on it!

yeah but they hadn't worked on it for the N95 which is the phone in discussion, so Samir did make nokia look stupid by releasing such a utility before them for the N95. Maybe nokia should have made it then made the tools available for developers ;)

Sure- I understand what you're saying, but you don't know what the firmware development team has been working on for the N95. I will agree that Nokia should have had functionality for this sensor since the launch of the N95, and it's just plain odd that nothing has been said of this until now- but honestly... to say that Nokia is stupid? I just don't know that I can get behind that one. It's a concept that's more than a little bit out there- don't you think??
As far as saying that Nokia should have made the rotate app, then release the tools for devs- I think you're totally missing how Nokia operates. Nokia supports the development community more than any other company I can think of. This is what they do- release tools for things like this to let the development community run wild with ideas and suggestions for what can be done. Nokia is all about the community, and learning from them.
That's not "stupid" in my book. Maybe you're just missing the point.
Cheers

That was a joke mate, notice the ;) haha :P like you said nokia supports developers then why haven't they acted quicker? No one knows but i think you take idiot a bit to serious, the way i intended it to go across as a little joke and that they have been a bit slow to act on this.

RIght, I got you now, mate.
I do agree, it's weird that the accelerometer is just now coming to light. I can't even begin to imagine the reason for that.
