I'm not here to change yours or anyone's opinion on the matter. All I'm saying is that neither you or I can prove who started development first. The article and subsequent video mean nothing. All Ren says is his idea was from that video, and posts a link to that video. It doesn't necessarily mean it was THAT video, from THAT blog. Youku.com is a YouTube clone. The video could have been one of many of the same video on there posted at any time.

Ironically in all this, you choose to use FlipSilent and I use ShutUp! lol

Well, I find it a little funny he should link directly to a video that has only been availible for the last month or so. In any case, at least by acknowledging the explanations for my opinion, I can see that you now know where I'm coming from. I would like to be proved wrong on the matter in all honesty, as this isn't the way I'd like to see developers acting now. S60 3rd Edition (Along with the newest devices it has been embedded in) has given developers one of the biggest chances they have ever had to put their work to good use. I would like to see that this doesn't affect the type of courtesy and manner in which developers have previously shared

I believe the end users on a whole, are more grateful for such applications existing in the first place, then to worry about trivial matters of 'who did it first'.

newest additions in this release of FlipSilent have been directly copied from Samir's application

lol that dude should get his own ideas not steal em..... he copied samirs idea on the shutup application - he just renamed it, now he steals all the features from shutup.....

Ok, well that answers the question of me not being the only cynical one

And Logan, I don't know about you but I respect developers very much! Maybe there are some who do not feel as strongly about what the developers go through to get to this stage, or are maybe not even that well informed of it, but I definitely do not just brush it off. I care if I see someones work personally affected by the exploitations from others

Ah give him a break mate. He's probably read my posts (And I'm sure others) that ShutUp just took the lead over him purely for adding the 'Close Slide to End Call' feature. And let's face it, he beat Samir to the punch with the release of his app in the first place.

If FlipSilent is to survive, he needed to add that feature. It's just the way competition works, you can't blame him? I haven't lost any respect for him at all.

Giz, I do respect the developers. I just think you're being far too cynical about this particular issue.
