Unhappy Problem with accelerometer!

Hi, I just recieved a N95 8gb today and i'm very happy with it; BUT i have a problem with the accelerometer: it just doesn't work!

I installed the plugin in my n95 (first the phone memory and then i tried the 'flash' 8gb memory) and after that the beta 5 of rotate me; lightsaber and the movingball app.
But they all didn't work! What' wrong? I also downloaded the plugin from an other site; installed it on both the memories..but no succes

The only thing i COULD find that i didn't do was this:

'Installation:

- Install N95AccelerometerPlugin.sis to your N95 device - I did this

- Extract files:
- RDAccelerometer.h and RDAccelerometerObserver.h to your SDK's \epoc32\include directory
- *.dso and *.lib files to your SDK's \epoc32\release\armv5\LIB directory'

from the readme of the accelerometer plugin
But I couldn't find the epoc32 folder.. but is it needed? And if it is; where is that folder? Or do i have to get a new n95?

If someone knows the answer; please tell me!
Thanks in advance,
H_H

ok I don't think you need the .h files on your phone. .h files are c++ header files and used for programming as are SKDs listed. Did you install rotateme and all the others to phone memory?

you only need to install the sis file, and to phone memory

Are the accelerometer apps starting or exiting immediately. If they are not starting then the plugin is not installed properly.

If they are starting but not working then you may have a hardware issue

Hi; thanks for responding so quickly!

I now have the lightsaber app working, so it isn't a hardware issue!
But the movingball makes an sound when i turn my mobile, but doesn't let the ball roll..so it has have something to do with the software.

And for rotateMe: I can't choose where i can install this app; it just installs..mabye thats why it doesn't work. Any solutions to get it to my phone memory?

Thanks!

well I've never had the rolling ball app working so I stopped trying but all the others work for me. Not sure as to why you don't get a choice for where to install.

what firmware

read this page over at nokia
S60 Sensor API - Forum Nokia Wiki
some apps use the sensor some use the plugin too.
until I had 20.0.015 firmware the sensor apps like groove labyrinth didn't work only lightsabre.
Both need the N95AccelerometerPlugin.sis installed I believe.

My understanding was you had to have it for anything accelerometer based?!?!

When I installed the moving ball app it installed the plugin automatically too. I had no probs therafter!

[quote=H_H;71934]Hi, I just recieved a N95 8gb today and i'm very happy with it; BUT i have a problem with the accelerometer: it just doesn't work!

Could there be a difference in the accelerometer use/management between the firmware of the N95-2 (N95 8GB) and the N95-1 ?
