Yes it is,and no there isn't an icon for it.
How many times do you have to tell us as to how long you've had your N95 8gb for........or is it a crap signature?

The acceleromter is a physical chip within the circuit board of the phone.
I actually thought G may have told you, to try the search function. ;)

i have many times, but the search function on this forum sucks. ill type it in and maybe 2 threads on the whole page will just talk about accelerometer. talking about how cool it is and what-not.
and ive stated that ive had my n95 for 4 days cuz my questions ive been asking are most likley so simple for others to answer.
so can anyone tell me where i can find accelerometer?

you can find your accelerometer by taking the casing off your phone and looking for that specific chip on the circuit board.
Other than that there's nothing to find, there's just applications and programs that use the information from the accelerometer. This chip tells the software when the phone moves and in what direction.

What do you mean you want to FIND the accelerometer?
You can probably Google for a picture of the circuit board and if it has labels or descriptions you may find it.

oh I also want to point out you don't need to let us know you're new to the phone. Sometimes even myself who happens to be labeled as a Guru comes up with simple questions from time to time. It doesn't matter if your new to it or had it for 5 years, if you've got a question we'll help you with it.
