Question Using the N95 as a remote control for the PC?

I have used most of my Sony Ericsson phones in the past as a remote control in media players, the desktop etc.

Is this possible with the Nokia N95?

The application your looking for is called "nokia wireless presenter" and can be found here. Nokia Europe - Wireless Presenter - PC software - Nokia 6131 - Product support - Get support and software. If you want to use the accelerometer as a mouse, I would highly recommend NWP in conjunction with samir's nokmote application. There is like tentrillion steps to installing/setting up nimii.

This is meant for Nokia 6131, right? Does it work for N95?

well thats the only thing I could find when I googled it so I imagine so as whatever i have is working with my n82. Hopefully that made sense. But there is a version out there which for sure works with the n95, and perhaps this is not it, youll just have to give it a try i suppose. Is from nokia so you know it won't be viruses or stuff like that.

I personally found the Nimii app to be too sensitive. The cursor was shaking all over the place even with the N95 sitting on the desk.

Hello everyone. Relating to remote control-style applications, I would like to mention that I just released a demo video of my soon-to-come application - PyAcceleREMOTER - which also uses the N95 accelerometer to transform the phone to a remote control (but not of the mouse!). It is a remote controller for the mplayer on gnu/linux boxes and it gives full control to the user to browse his/her files on the hard disk from the phone as well as send various commands to mplayer once it starts playing a file. Anyway, if anyone is interested in taking a look and dropping any ideas or suggestions you are welcome.
