Did you go into the Sound settings and can you see the device there? If you can, make it default and then right click and choose TEST.

My other Bluetooth device is ignored by vista until I do the above... I've got to do some work later, so I'll fire up the Laptop and try it, if I get time.

EDIT: Just tried it GSI, Works OK on my Vista Business. :( Not very helpful I guess... Hope it helps you track down the problem though.

This is the sound setting screen I mentioned. From Control Pannel:

Seen here playing the excellent Basement Jaxx remix of Cold Shoulder by Alede. Fantastic!

Comedy is just about saying stupid things cleverly, or is it clever things stupidly... Anyway, it's not rocket surgery.

Well, just tried it, and its not showing in the window you posted above:(

I found it (Small picture of headphones) in Bluetooth devices after pairing, but when i choose to connect, it shows connecting....Then disconnects.

As well as a small pair of headphones showing in the bluetooth devices, there is also a handsfree device, which is also, labeled Blackbox. I can connect this device, but even once connected, it dont show in the sounds window.

Im confused :(

Just to add. When I pair my laptop to the blackbox, although I put the default code im "1234", and it accepts it on my laptop, but the "TICK" does not show on the blackbox, and still flashes the Bluetooth symbol :(

I think I have found my problem. It looks like my Bluetooth which is build into my laptop, is running on some old drivers. This laptop should be A2DP compatible, so will check for new drivers, and let you know how I get on.

These are the current drivers, which do work, and can connect to my phones, but not the blackbox.

I dont even know why there is a mention of a Bluetooth usb dongle, because my bluetooth is built in lol

Well, my blackbox has now packed up. Well, it works if connected up by cable, it just don't work with bluetooth anymore.

Basically, when switched on, it briefly shows the bluetooth sign, then goes straight to the lit bar at the bottom, don't search, or even respond to pressing the button to pair on remote, or pressing button for 4 seconds on the device.

Gutted.

Sounds like it might need a factory reset. (don't know how to do that) Have you tried contacting them.

Thats what I thought too Gav, even connected the mini usb in the hope I would be able to upgrade its firmware, but theres no mention of this anywhere in the manual. I have contacted Gear4, but as of yet no response, however, the seller i purchased it from on eBay has said he will replace it for a brand new item Just got to send this one back to the UK now, and then arrange for my mother to forward the replacement, as the seller would not ship to Finland.
