I can't remember where I read it, might have been a review, but that's exactly what I thought the USB was for, to upgrade firmware and add compatibility for none supported devices. I mean, they even supply a lead!

Comedy is just about saying stupid things cleverly, or is it clever things stupidly... Anyway, it's not rocket surgery.

Hi guys,

I'd like to patch the firmware of my blackbox to be able to change the scrolling text on its LED screen.
The Blackbox is detected as "CSR dfu mode" when I connect it to my PC using USB. I wonder if all of the blackbox firmware can be upgraded using USB or only the bluetooth chip firmware. There is no mention about the blackbox firmware on the Gear4 site and I did not find anything by googling.

So have anyone tried downloading firmware from the blackbox? I think I'll have to download some CSR dfu drivers and maybe patch them to do that..

I couldn't even get that when I connected my old one to my laptop via its usb lead. Not tried just yet with my replacement.
