Nice forum you have here.

I bought an uprated battery for my N95 8gb last week from Amazon.

Link below.

Amazon.co.uk: greymobiles 2200mAh High Capacity Extended Battery & Battery Cover For Nokia N95 8GB: Electronics & Photo

Thus far it has lasted 5 days with approx 3 - 4 hours of calls, much fiddling (as the handset is still a novelty for me) and several bouts of wifi surfing.

The battery comes with a cover which adds to the phones girth slightly but it's still pocketable.

The stock battery would have fallen over long ago...!

Top stuff.

Regards to all.

VC
Whatever about it exploding (and I would be dubious re that myself), I think the extra bulge that 2200mh batteries add just isn't worth it, imo.

I completely agree, even if and thats a huge IF, that 2200 battery did work well without any ill effects its huge, who wants to add bulk to your N95 and tarnish the beauty of this phone? Buy a Proporta or something similar

I do enjoy reading some of the comments in this thread.

"Who wants to add bulk to your N95 and tarnish the beauty of this phone"

Are you guys serious...?

The N95 is already a huge bulky phone...!

Here is mine next to my recent SE handset...

Here it is with the "Huge" battery attached...

Hardly massive or huge is it...?

For those of you that might be interested... it lasts approx 6 days with fairly heavy use.
The fact that it adds some "bulk" to the back of the phone actually makes for a useful grip when operating the phone one handed. Its far less likely to slip out of your hand whilst texting or whatever.

It will not damage the phone. I have used uprated batteries in the past on other mobile handsets without issue so I very much doubt this one will be any different. As you can see from the pics mine is still working just fine.

Adding bulk to a beautiful phone I ask you...!

Its a phone. Get over it.

Regards,

VC

Well, I can always put the OEM battery and cover back on and be like you guys charging it every couple of days... then I can feel "normal" again...! LOL

The only downside I was having was finding a case that would accomodate such bulk and girth.
It's ok though as I found one today so it's all good.

Thanks for all your replies though.
Fascinating...!

Regards,

VC

Looks pretty big to me. I'm not sure if adding bulk to an already "huge bulky phone" is the way I want to solve a problem that can be remedied by charging the phone; I spend most of my day beside any number of sockets. But each to their own.

VC right

Thanks for this amusing thread. I have smiled

On the note of usefulness of the big battery I will say I agree with VC there are some very good points to it.

I use a lot of GPS and go out camping and walking for long duration, and with heavy use of gps and sports tracter and geo tagging and photos the extended life is a boon.

I know it makes it bigger and uglier, but it is to me just a tool and I am carrying a big bag anyway and when I go back to urban life I put the smaller battery back in.

I have been using it for a while and highly recommend it especially if you away from a power point for a while and want uninterupted use of the phone. I also carry spare charged batteries with me but changing them over I lose all the gps data I am tracking s o like the long life.

With this heavy gps usage though I still only get about 8 hours but that is better than the few hours I would get on a standard battery

Looking forward to any amusing derogatory comments you might have about me and my sado comments.

Here to a great phone, thanks for all the sound advice and help
