Hey VC i love your sense of humour!

Im sorta tempted to go for one of those batteries for the N95, it comes with a special back like you say. Its only a 2000 mah one...

Ive also heard of the scare stories and to be honest, any battery that isnt official in a top product like an n95 is a bit of a risk, anyways, for £3 i just bought a spare official battery.

So now after 2ish days i just whack my new battery in so i go 4 days without charge hurrah.

And my face is safe huzzah!!!

I have used one of the extended batteries for 6 months ( for the very reasons given above) with out any probs .........

And I have yet to attend an incident involving an exploding battery in any shape or form !!!!!

If you have regular access to a charger , then why bother .... if not then its a good move.

Ralph

had one for the n95-1 classic-- everyone says they may explode mine didnt , however the battery cells seemed to be rubbish after about 4 maybe 5 months the battery stopped holding charge as well as it should off

in the end i had a much bigger battery lasting just as long as the normal oem one

so i went back to the normal one , id take the rating with a pinch of salt myself as they are only stickers on the back of the battery.

one thing that i really didnt like was the way that the colour of the battery cover is different to the actual phone and it stands out quite a bit , i noticed it in your pictures as well , surely they could have got the black and plum battery covers the same colour , would of made it look alot better

anyways enjoy your phone mate

hope your cells dont die as quick as mine ill just use the oem one now :-)

have a good1

Update.

My face is indeed still intact. Battery still fine and I get 5 - 6 days out of it between charges.
Excellent little phone although it is very ugly and there are far more attractive handsets out there but this bad boy does as its told.

2200mAh of wholesome goodness.

Oh and for the knockers out there, when I go out at night with my friends, to hide the shame of such a huge bulky voltage pack, I put the OEM one in and feel all part of the team once more.

God bless.

VC

Same here with the N82. And the BP-6MT is only 1050MAH, just imagine what it could do with a larger one!

vanilla.coffee, would you have not bought this massive battery if not for you going out clubbing so much and not making it home for days so you can simply charge ?

Are you guys serious...?

The N95 is already a huge bulky phone...!

Here is mine next to my recent SE handset...

Here it is with the "Huge" battery attached...

Hardly massive or huge is it...?

For those of you that might be interested... it lasts approx 6 days with fairly heavy use.
The fact that it adds some "bulk" to the back of the phone actually makes for a useful grip when operating the phone one handed. Its far less likely to slip out of your hand whilst texting or whatever.

It will not damage the phone. I have used uprated batteries in the past on other mobile handsets without issue so I very much doubt this one will be any different. As you can see from the pics mine is still working just fine.

Adding bulk to a beautiful phone I ask you...!

Its a phone. Get over it.

Regards,

VC

congratulations! your phone looks pregnant. when is it due?

as long as its electronics especially batteries, oem or not, its not spared from exploding. if you all are aware of the laptop that caught on fire a few years back, it was an oem battery by sony. and millions had to be recalled back.

the pros of using an oem battery and having it exploding along with the handset would probably be that it'll be covered under warranty. should something happen the pregnant battery (i.e melted due to overheating and no way to get it out from the handset) then thats it. but you still have the sexy SE phone there, so it shouldn't be a problem
