2200 mAh battery for N95 8gb

Hi all, first post etc blah blah.
Nice forum you have here.

I bought an uprated battery for my N95 8gb last week from Amazon.

Link below.

Amazon.co.uk: greymobiles 2200mAh High Capacity Extended Battery & Battery Cover For Nokia N95 8GB: Electronics & Photo

Thus far it has lasted 5 days with approx 3 - 4 hours of calls, much fiddling (as the handset is still a novelty for me) and several bouts of wifi surfing.

The battery comes with a cover which adds to the phones girth slightly but it's still pocketable.

The stock battery would have fallen over long ago...!

Top stuff.

Regards to all.

VC

I strongly advise all of you NOT to use Non-OEM batteries. It may EXPLODE in your face!!

I agree about not using non OEM batteries, however, the exploding rumours are just that imo, rumours. Seen some posts elsewhere on the net, with photos, but i believe they are hoaxed.

Thanks for that bud.
Question.

Will it explode in my face due to having some kind of facial proximity sensor system or might it explode elsewhere... like the table in my living room or on my desk at work.
Might it explode in my pocket or is it just when its near my face...?

Thanks in advance... VC (Now wearing battery protection face mask system...)

The only batteries I have heard of recently exploding are Nokia OEM ones. Nokia recenty recalled 46,000,000 of them.

Nokia-branded batteries at risk of overheating -- 46 million devices affected - Engadget

I will take my chances with this one. I am sure it will be just fine.

This section has been set up for members to review accessories for the N95. This I have done and the first response is not a thanks for the tip but a strong warning advising against as it may explode in my face. I just found the comment a little rich when the irony is Nokia produced 46 million potential face damaging batteries themselves.

But hey, ho hum... you guys continue with your two day life spans while I plug my little 95 in once a week.

Regards,

VC

I found your comments quite sarcastic when we was just giving advice.

And bragging about a battery thats been available for a while, and turns your N95 into a brick, doesn't make us green with envy.

Fair enough.

Please have this trophy for sinking to my level.

As an aside, the phone has still not requested another charge yet...

Regards,

VC (Will advise if my new brick explodes - may even post pics...! )

My N82's holding up well too and it can fit in my pocket ;-)

Hmmm, I sense an inner frustration with you VC, big is not necessarily better you understand.

I can understand the attraction if you are compensating for something
