Using Flash as light during video recording
Is there any way to set adjust the flash to stay lit while recording video?

No there is not, otherwise we'd all be using it as a torch!!! A feature I'm sure everyone misses... Although there is python script which can make it flash on and off but nothing that makes it stay permanently on. One can only summise that Nokia disabled that feature as it could damage the LED. Personally I thought LED's were MADE for that kind of thing but go figure.... *shrugs*

Thanks Salada2K.
I did sample some software that was suppose to enable the light, but the red video light appeared instead of the white flash light.
Thanks for your information on this.
Maybe one day someone will figure a way to correct that software. It was pretty close to functioning properly.

The red component of the LED assembly is designed for continuous usage... The high-intensity white LED, used for the flash and fed with a brief high current (and I assume, fed with a lower current for the focus-light), is not!
Bear in mind also the rate at which your battery would deplete, even if the circuitry could handle the constant load!!

Yeah, but it's not as bright during the assisted focus- why couldn't that be used? It's working on the N96 with two LEDs, are they different LEDs?
As far as battery life concerns- again, the N96- with two LEDs, and a 950mAh battery, right? I wonder how long that can record video at night...?

This is the link to the app I tried. It came really close to working. Only problem is that it turned on the red led light instead of the flash. If someone could modify this program.

Something really cool is on the N93 you can use it for video recording and while the phone is shut, if you press the dedicated flash button on the side of the phone then it just turns on and you can use it as a utility, it shuts off after about a minute or so, probably to prevent damage I would presume.
