When you take a pic it goes to the desk top you can then put in a folder. How do you delete from the desk top without deleting it from the folder.

You can't. All photos will always stay in your gallery (desktop) even if you move them to an album (folder). The only way to prevent images showing up in your gallery is to use a file browser such as Y-Browser and changing the image attribs to hidden.
