n95 camera lens

I have just got this phone. The user manual said that the camera key activates the camera, but we have to open the lens cover manually, right ? I mean, if the lens shutter is closed, pressing the camera key does not do anything.
Can somebody please confirm ?

that is correct, the camera is off until you open the lens cover.
