Hi,
I am newbie to camera phones and i am really confused while i read other threads on this forum. What is firmware and how can i check version of my N95 firmware. And if i want to upgrade it, how can i do that?

Will really appreciate if u give me a beginners answer.

When the phone is at the operator screen (the normal standby screen) press *#0000# to check the version

If its only 10.0.0.xx or 11.0.0.28 then you may be able to update to the latest version, which is 12.0.0.xx

Download the Nokia Updater: Nokia Europe - Phone software update

Install NSU and connect your phone to the PC using USB, connect using PC Suite Mode.

The NSU software will check for an update and download the ~100MB firmware file. If your phone is branded, you may not be able to update the firmware as yet. Your provider needs to approve the new firmware, then Nokia will make it available via NSU (Nokia Software Updater).

just search in the forum and you will know how to upgrade ur firmware...the latest i think is version 12...just try to look,and u will find what you seek....

Yeah my phone is branded. I bought it in England Orange.

Orange UK will NOT let you update to the latest firmware. Before updating you must change your operator code. Search the forums as there is PLENTY on how to do this.

BUT, if you have Orange phone insurance DO NOT DEBRAND. It voids Orange care warranty!

Just settle for the v11 update. As I understand, Orange *should* be missing out v12 and going straight for the next version - just pray it's not v13!

where can i find v11 of orange coz im currently on v 10
