Battery Life
Hi, everybody.
I think I am about to get an N95, but from past Nokia experience I worry about battery life. This is the only thing that is stopping me getting one today. What's your experience please?

the nokia n95 battery isnt that great unfortunatly, you will have to charge it every night, But in saying that it also balances out with its feature set and it is also cheap and easy to buy another 2 or 3 spare batteries.
Also some people tell others that the battery does get slightly longer life after a few full charges, i have no idea if this is true as i don't really care with that stuff and if it does it will only be very minor.

Just to confirm what ellmondo was saying, yes, the battery life can take a while to amount to its full potential
And for me personally, (Owning the phone for a good few months now), you realise that this is absolutely true, the battery consumption is not half as bad as it was when I first bought the phone and provides ample use for my daily activities within the phone

also i have found that you will get prolonged battery life in time, when i first got my n95 i just ran the hell outa it :P loved all its features, but as time goes on you start holding back on that as you get to know the phone and its potential.

If you don't use 3g, switch that off, and also disable the constant Wifi searching. Just use them when you need 'em. If you are able to turn these off, you will get past a day out of it, in my experience.
You could argue that if you didn't want these fearutesm, then why did you buy an N95, but it's easy to switch them on when needed. So you're not uninstalling the features, as such.

totally agree.. when i first got my 6680 2 years ago, i consulted the users manual. it was advised to keep 3G switched off if i want a better batt life.. also, if ur phone uses quite a bit of power when it switches from GSM to 3G and so on..
curiously, nokia N95 dont seem to have that line in the manual..

but you guys know that the newer version of the n95 8Gb has a larger battery and more RAM? the battery is now 1200 mAh, which is pretty decent. the old n95 battery was 950 mAh, which was too small.

Uh... LonelyGuy... what is that??? No comment then don't post.
But if you're worrying about battery life, you could always get the newer N95's, I've lost track of their model numbers/names

I think people overdramatise the N95's battery life...
Also people within the first few weeks tend to "try out" all the fuctionality and put a bit of a strain on the batteries...
