I have just got a
N95 on 3 unlocked. Sold (New) as unwanted present. I too was getting error connection. As I am on a Vodafone contract I took it into my local Vodafone shop. The girl said it was their fault! and went to Network settings/manual/set it to another carrier. Then put it back to automatic and so far it is OK!. But, as you know 3G has not the best of coverage in some places, and on my 95 you can only set the network to automatic and manual, no way of setting it to GSM, and when on automatic it always revert to 3G and never to GSM. I get the feeling this is done by 3 phones so you have to use the 3G network which is not good if you cannot get a good 3G signal, BUT, I do show a full 3G signal on my phone, so is it to do with the transmitters? or the phones software/firmware. Regards.
