Music very slow to copy from PC

I bought an 8gig card with the idea of using most of the space for music, but when I try to transfer tunes using Nokia Music Manager (part of Nokia PC Suite) it just takes forever. I had to disable the option to convert to mobile format as that would lock up my laptop. As it is the CPU is on a steady 100% and it took about 5 hrs to load less than 100 songs. Anyone else have this problem? My laptop was state-of-the-art about 3 years ago and works fine in other repects.

Next I'm going to try just putting the memory card directly in the laptop slot and try to copy music files that way. I has to be quicker than Music Manager...

Oh and sometimes during playback the music just stops. I've noticed this while using it in the car with GPS running. I can restart the music by switching to it and pressing play, but it's slightly annoying. Any ideas?

Your better off just dragging and dropping your music files into a created folder using mass storage mode.

What brand of memory card have you?

Hmm, I agree with Micky, If you are using a memory card, just insert it directly to your laptop and just drag and drop any files you want to copy :)

Yes, I'll try that. It's a Sandisk card. The good thing about Music Manager is that it has a Random Transfer option, so I don't need to make any decisions :)

I Also Had similar problems i.e pc freezing during conversion which is due to faulty tags of media files and missing codecs & if you pre convert the songs using converter like jet audio they work seamlessly . So my suggestion would be to connect the phone in media player mode and using windows media player to synchronise your songs it would be much faster without any freeezes
