Cant set up Email
I am trying to use my NTL email address on my n95, went through the wizard on the phone, as I try to retrieve emails it keeps throwing back the Emails and password box to me. I've triple checked and the information is correct.
As I click connect it asks me how to connect WLAN WAP etc I select WLAN and then it throws the username and password box back, as I click ok. it goes back to the connection options.
Any idea ?

Have you entered the correct password? If so do you need to authenticate your connection?
Address Format: user.name@ntlworld.com
Outgoing Mail Server
Type: SMTP
Address: smtp.ntlworld.com
Incoming Mail Server
Type: POP3
Address: pop.ntlworld.com
These are the settings you need to enter. Try doing it manually.

Hi, I double checked the details, all are correct. Only thing I would say is the port, I have it on default, should there be a set port number ?
Also is there any other settings to input anywhere ? or only those above ?

Unless NTL specify a port, which I didn't see.
The above settings are the only settings you should need. Try sending NTL an email?

You probably also need to enter the security settings (SSL/TLS probably).

just about to set up my email settings to. I have an hotmail email account i wish to use, and access from my phone. Which would be easier? Setting up email to retrieve hotmail email, or Gmail? (Not sure what Gmail is exactly)
Sorry for the dumb questions, any help appreciated.

Unfortunately, the E-Mail feature on the N95 only supports SMTP and POP addresses - Hotmail is an HTTP address and will not allow proper setup
Alternatively, you can download Windows Live! Messenger which adds a new E-Mail section where you would normally see it (In the messages tabs)
Menu -> Download! -> WinLive -> Mail and IM
It will set up the instant messenger and a new E-Mail inbox which you can set up manually :)

hey guys i was able to receive email from my gmail. The settings that the wizard is fine. the only thing that you need to do is to configure your gmail account. go to your email account then go to settings the select forwardand pop/imap then at the pop download select enable pop. you can pick any as long as you enable pop. after that try retrieving your email then you'll be able to download it.
1. Status: POP is enabled for all mail that has arrived since Jan 15
Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded)
Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on
Disable POP
