see with things like this I may end up taking another look at Nokia Maps, just wish more of my friends had phones that could run such programs so I could use them more

I can see privacy issues arising with the GPS functionality. Let's just hope it's locked down pretty tight so people can't exploit it and force a location from someone. The last thing I want is someone to be able to find my location without my permission.

Is this an open chat room interface or do you have to add friends like a normal PC messenger service (or a mixture of both?). If it's the latter then we're all good, but if it's an open chat service (or has an open chat service) then people need to be aware of the Glitters and Jackson's of the N95 user-base. It's one thing chatting up a 13, 14, 15 year old and meeting up with them and another thing completely when you exploit their phone and pin point their exact location.

Or am I being a little pessimistic?

purp I don't think you're being too pessimistic at all and you bring up some very good points.

I also read else where that it might just be for nokia chat users and therefor not for talking to other IM clients, is this true?

Even if this is true the functionalities may outweigh those of other mobile messenger clients and be the next fad for Nokia users with GPS. I'll be sure to try it out when I get home (battery died!!).

Why do I have to create a user profile? Can I change my profile information?
Your profile information is available to all your friends on your friend list.
With your profile you tell them who you are and select how you want them to see you.
You can edit your Nokia Chat profile information whenever you want.
You can edit your screen name, your avatar, and your contact information, for example, phone numbers.

I don’t want anyone to see my Nokia Chat information
To hide your information, select Options > Settings > Account, and in the “Visibility in search” field select “Invisible”.

Can I connect with my friends on other IM services?
You can add friends who have Google Talk™ and other XMPP/Jabber based IM services to your friend list, see their statuses, and chat with them.

I'm sure i have a Nokia account but can't remember the details of it,and i can't find anywhere where i can find it out from either,any ideas?
