My own personal battery solution for N95
Ebay! Ebay! Ebay! I got a cradle/charger, so I can be charging a battery while it's NOT in the phone. It's no good having a charger at work if you then are forced to leave your phone at your desk charging.
Also, I bought 5 spare batteries. Seem crazy? Maybe. But those 5 cost less than one official battery. The seller is from Hong Kong, yeah I know a lot of people are scared of buying from so far away. I was too, but I bought just one initially. All went well, so I went ahead and ordered 4 more.
I keep one in my jacket pocket, one in the car door, one in a drawer at work, one in the wife's handbag, leave one at home.
At under US$10 per battery including international postage, how can you go wrong? Mine's a N95-3 so I got the BL-6F ones rated at 1200mah. They have the Nokia hologram and everything. I can't tell the difference between them and the official ones.
I also got a car charger cable and a second travel charger. All these accessories/batteries came in at about US$60.
This is the seller I used is *link removed by mod* - it is enough to state you bought a BL-6F. Everyone knows how to search on ebay to find one.

Ha! That is some dynamic thinking there... My idea was to sand down the battery cover and fit in an N95 8GB battery. But you have addressed the issue with a whole different approach.
I'll go check this out, even if it is a fake, if the price is that cheap its still useful as a battery to last you till you get home! Thanks.

Hmmm, maybe the original poster is the ebay seller himself. PLEASE do not take this as an offense d4005. You are a new member, so I want forum members to be aware, thats all. If you aren't the seller; I doubt you would take it offensive.
I really like the extra batteries, but 5 extras? LOL! I might just buy one myself :-)

I agree. I have removed the link. No offence to the OP.

No worries about removing the link. There were plenty of sellers of the batteries. That just happens to be the one I used. I figured somebody would ask, so I was being pro-active with the link. I doubt they are the original genuine batteries, but they seem to work just fine.

I find a full charge at home each night is sufficient for my N95 3gb. I also have a car charger just in case for when I am out and about. Shame it doesnt charge from usb too.

ok.. i had two n95-1 (actually, i gave one to my dad but he gave it back when he got another phone) but only had one battery (long story)... so i got a one of those cheap replacement battery from ebay and it works but it never lasts a day (with calls and text only). so now i decided to sell one of the n95-1 to get me the 8gb and i sold it with the original battery... now since i also use my n95-1 i had to get a genuine battery because i can't stand fake stuffs for any of my gadgets (i'm afraid somehow it might damage my stuffs and i end up paying more for later)... but i still kept the replacement battery just in case i have to use it...
point is... i agree with d4005, you can use those replacement batteries just for emergencies like what he did, placing them everywhere. but for daily use, always use a genuine one. i had some bad experiences using those desktop chargers... it ruined my SE batteries... so if you're going to buy one... do not charge your genuine battery in it... just your replacement batteries. :)

I imagine the rules this forum has made is up to them. Nobody else seems to mind them. There are a lot of N95 forums are around, so it's not like there isn't plenty of choice. If I ran a forum I'd probably also want to avoid links to programs. What if someone goes there, gets their phone broken because of it, and wants to sue the forum owner.

Good point. I'll only charge my genuine battery using the original charger.

Getting back to the thread....
I've said this before, and I'll say it again.
Those cradle chargers DO NOT have a charging cut-off circuit built into them! Look for "Delta-V" circuitry. If it doesnt have it, and these Hong Kong ones don't, then steer well clear.
Any battery placed into it will die a pretty quick and miserable death.
Good job you bought 5!!!!!!!
