Has anybody got their hands on one of these beauties yet and can comment on the phone stability? Does it crash often?

While I am sure it will have a few bugs as any phone does, the S60 OS is regarded as a stable devloped OS.

It's true. Symbian is generally rock solid.

Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Some work still needed

By one old month experience, I saw N95 not to be stable. I was not able to understand from the two errors (some services crashed), if the problem was with Symbian OS or S60 UI.

This happened in 3GSM stand by demo phones, so you cannot really tell what is the status of N95 today. Only thing is if you see the delay when phone comes in the shops you can do your own math.

Still I rather wait for stable phone than get another Windows on markets.

Well... as I understand it, any issue you have seen with an N95 and stability equated to it being an unfinished device. You just can't ever base stability on beta equipment or software. You have to just look at all the cool things that are working and assume that any crazy error message that pops up is going to be fixed before the release.

Unfortunately, things don't always work out that way. Even with Nokia... :(

I'm fairly convinced that Nokia would realize that any and all stability issues simply must be delt with before release, even if that means a delay. As far as I can remember, nothing has ever been this anticipated in the mobile world. It would be a huge failure if there's all this "hype" behind the annoucement of the N95 and it turns out to be a device riddled with stability and functionality flaws, be it hardware or software. I would imagine this device is either going to be rock solid, or a big blow to big Nokia's reputation.

I'm kinda hoping for "rock solid"...
