Cheers, might stick duct tape over mine now.

I will put a piece of paper over the strip as to not stick the tape on the actual sticker and hopefully, that will cover me should anything happen.

Can someone look at theirs under Ultra Violet light to see if it has any other protection? One of those forged note detectors in shops would be ideal.

no matter what you do with the sticker it will not really matter as regardless of what the sticker says every Service Centre has to carry out a full Liquid damage check prior to carrying out a repair.
Even if you only need a new A cover the engineer is supposed to carry out a full internal inspection and there are far more tell tail signs than that one sticker ;)

it might be worth noting at this point that liquid damage need not be caused by actual liquid !
Liquid damage can be caused by condensation ,steam from the kettle (just having it in the kitchen) or from being in a steamy room like the bathroom (even if the phone is well away from the bath/sink itself) , just to mention a few things that can cause liquid damage

i'm pretty sure, that thing there, comes off very easily, when i dropped my phone in the bath, soon as i took the battery out, it had red underneath it, which i rubbed off with a towel :s lol. i thought it was some dye off the nokia hologram on the battery, and thought nothing of it.

now i've actually double checked, i have an empty space where that should actually be. so i think i've wiped it off! lol. but very sneaky idea by nokia! and also very clever!

This now might make people think twice also about talking on the phone in the pouring rain,i never do just because Nokia phones aren't the best built phones, plenty of little gaps and nooks and crannys where a tiny bit of rain could do some damage.

an average rainy day in the UK will have enough water vapour in the air ,even after the rain fall has finish to potentially cause problems with the phone.
Also remember that even if "liquid damage" does not cause actual harm to your phone ,should it crash or need some other repair then even the slightest amount of vapour/liquid getting in can/will cause enough scarring for the engineer to BER the handset !

with all this talk of rain it has made me think that my phones have had a hard life!I do an outdoor job in all weathers and my phone spends its days in my shirt pocket.I admit that it does not get soaking wet but comes into contact with quite a bit of moisture.I must be lucky because i haven't had problems with moisture damage yet.
