Hey,

I downloaded slidehangup and its not signed so N95 8GB wont install it....

I followed instructions on this site, but get this error when trying it:

FAILURE: Submitted .sis file uses a UID that is not allocated to the account holder matching this email address (0xa000180a )

I've never used this site before and its a brand new phone.... any ideas?

You may need your own DEVCERT, and KEY file to sign this, not 100% sure if this app you mention is allowed by open signed.

I tried signing the files associated with PyNetMony and received the message:

Your application (elocation-PyS60_1_4_4_3rdEdFP1-unsigned.sis) signing has failed. This may be because it has been flagged as a potential virus by our scanning or because the format of your sis file is incorrect or corrupt. Please try re-building your .sis file and re-submitting.

Anyone had this before?

As stated on symbiansigned:

"Open Signed Online currently does not allow you to sign a SIS that is allocated to someone else and hasn't been enabled for Open Signing; i.e. if the email address you use for Open Signed Online MUST match the email address of the account which created a UID."

In short, you need to find an unsigned version of the application which is enabled for the Open Signed procedure. Otherwise you need to obtain a Publisher ID and create a developer's certificate and key, which will allow you to sign such applications. And you need to have an account with symbiansigned for that, which is linked to an email address.

Another option is to hack your phone so you can install unsigned applications - Easy method of hacking N95 to allow installation of unsigned apps

Firstly, nicely skinned forum, i like it.

Secondly, what a pain in the arse is installing applications!!
I'm simply looking to install SlideHangUp, which obviously won't work without having it signed.
So i go to SymbianSigned, and not one of the domains i have an email address at appears to be on their whitelist.

Can somebody please advise if its possible to get this app signed without setting up my own web domain?
(PS CJB doesn't appear to work)

The process worked just fine using my work email for getting RotateMe v2.1 Open Signed to work. The install was a little confusing because the file didn't associate itself with anything I just decided to drag and drop in PC Suite and use the phone to find the file and open it. Boom...it installed perfectly.
