There's a fair bit of play in my recently acquired second hand N95-1...wobbles slightly so I would be interested in the new type rails too if there's any still going?

Have you tried the fix guide using tape? Click on the TIPS tab at the top of each page, or in my SIG below.

I've done quite extensive research into the N95, I've had it less than a week! lol

Yes I have looked, but if there is a more permanent solution to the common problem then I would rather do it that way. I am after a few bits for my 'phone, the Black N95-1 OEM housing (when it shows up with NokiaParts), I have already ordered a Black Aluminium Shell and screen protectors.

I need to get myself the right Torx 'drivers before I can really do anything with it tbh. I was looking to do the tape remedy but then found this post so push come to shove I'll have to look at it one way or another.

Funnily enough, mine getting a bit loose now - Was thinking of opening it to tighten. As spook said above, can these new ones be fitted as spares? I'll have a couple from whoever will sell me...

Well I did the tape on the rails trick and it's marginally better and I did both rails. The slide is definitely 'crisper' in both directions but there is still slight play if I wiggle the front of the 'phone.

I wish I had a tiny vice that could hold the rail straight so I could perhaps bend the part that gets taped in towards the screwholes a little...just a little. Might have a go at it anyway...even if it's uneven a little, the compression on the nylon just might improve it somewhat. Anyone else tried that?

If all else fails, NokiaParts gets a new order for the slide mechanism, complete with new style rails
