That I understood, the part I was commenting on was this: "I think you hve to post your IMEI and wait for an email. Your choice!?!?" As I said, you'll wait a long time for an email (from OPDA)... You need to keep checking the OPDA site page, linked to in the first post in this thread, as per instructions... ;)

This has got me thinking.

All you need is about 125 people to donate just £1 via paypal towards a group buy of a developer certificate then people would feel more reassured about giving out their IMEI?
(not 100 due to paypal charges). Perhaps a "senior member"/"forum moderator"/"someone trust worthy" couild operate this?

I suppose what could happen is for those who donate are garanteed their certificates while people who can't or won't donate have to wait in turn for theirs. Obviously the £100/$200 has to be reached before buying the devcert.

Bad idea?

BTW I have the "old" certificate.

Something along these lines was being considered before the OPDA method became available...

Obtaining a Publisher ID is not straightforward, you need to have a certified, registered company, meeting rather rigid criteria to qualify.... PLUS... All Devcerts created would be traceable to and the responsibility of, the company that generated them.

So whilst the finance of the Publisher ID isn't a problem, actually qualifying for, obtaining it and being willing to take responsibility for every one of the thousand devcerts that could be issued by using it, certainly is! ;)

Yup I'm using Mobile Signer now, N95 life is a lot easier again. Nice to have a cert back! Yey!

£1 for a cert. My god, I think anyone would be raking it in doing that. I really appreciate what OPDA are doing, especially seeing as their forum will be getting bunged up by tons of repetitive 'thanks'! Good guys there like!

Judging from the number of 'satisfied customers' who've received their DevCert, thanks to Ormz pointing the way, I would have have expected to see more use being made of the 'Thanks' button in the first post of this thread!
