Eh??? You dont need the key when you have your .cer file???!?!?!?!?!?! Its not a specific key! Its not unique to anyone, anyone can use the key file.

By the way could someone tell me how we recieve these cer files from this ODPA site???? I cant understand this!

Hmmm, that strange, to apply for the cert you needed a csr file and a key file, if you use any of the tools out there to generate a key file for imei, the key is different every time, i have tried to sign with my cer, and a key file that i know has a matching password - this gives error invalid password or key file. I know some tools provide you with a ready made key file that loads of people have used, thus its all well and good for then, if they loose it its a widespread key file, where is the keyfile i used was generated by signsis - i thought the idea is you cant use any cert unless you have the key file to prove you are the actual owner?

It must be as I have tried creating a new key and using it but the apps would not sign, I think it is specific to each cer

Go here and scroll down the part that lists the dates with the post numbers at the side, match them up to your own and click the link underneath in red writing. On the page that popped up scroll down to the bottom of the imei numbers and you will see a rar named ODPA with the date, download and that is it

Tried and tested myself mate. I just got a new pc, downloaded my personal cer file and picked up the key, autobat...blah blah files from a forum i got them previously.

Worked fine. Maybe its because i got the key from the same place i got it last time. Dont know how you sign your files, i know i have mentioned this to others and they thanked me for it, worked for them.

Thats for directing me to the right place, totally confusing this chinese stuff!

yeah you have to make 5 posts, just flood the thread with 4 more posts.

I have put up a couple of my mates numbers to see if I can get a cert for them.

Quick question tho, I have signsis on my phone that required a no-password key. Does the cert file from this site use the same no-password key?

The key file question before - i created my cer from symbian with no-password so i can use any no-password key. If you created the cert file with a password then the key file must contain that same password.
