Chinese forum OPDA is issuing Developer Certificates to members, to obtain one you need to register
(Note that as at no time are you emailed, the accuracy of your email address isn't important for the purpose of registering... You may want to bear this in mind in order to guard against spam?). You then post your IMEI to the forum
(Making A Note Of The Number Of your Post), along with at least 4 others posts to the forum, to qualify to be able to download your Certificate. This is a link that will show you the steps you need to follow:
www.symbian-freak.com :: View topic - Open Signed Online (BETA) Service Information Click on each pic listed, then click on it again to see the detail further enlarged.
After registering and posting your IMEI as instructed, you can use the following information to help you post the other posts you need to reach a minimum of 5 posts to the forum: Post variations of "Thanks etc." to each of the following threads...
two ,
three ,
four ,
five and you'll have the five posts to the forum that you need to qualify. (Information courtesy of
'Fork_001' of Symbian-Freaks.) You'll see the number in the left-hand column of your posts increase by one for each post that you make... You need at least a total of five.
After you've completed the above steps, go
here and scroll down the first post in the thread, until you reach a list of lines similar to this one:

Scroll down to the last lines and look for the number-range (the part that I've hi-lighted in
purple), that contains the number of your post. It will take several days before the range containing your number will appear, just keep checking back at intervals until you see it.
When you do see the line with a range containing the number of your post, then
log-in to the site and click on the red script immediately below that line, scroll down the page that appears and you'll see a list of approx. a thousand IMEI numbers, in reverse numerical order. Using 'Edit' & 'Find (on this page)', check that your IMEI is listed then go to the TOP of the page and click on 'English View', now step back one page and scroll down to the foot of the numbers column to see:

Click on 'Buy' to be taken to another page which shows your credits (the amount of posts that you've made so far). Click on 'Submit' to start your download.
Unrar the file and in there you'll have a .CER & a .KEY file, these together, are your "Developer Certificate". :)
For the more impatient among you, this might be a slightly different option to take... Faster, but at a cost of $5.
See
this post for details of one way in which you can use your devcert it to sign apps
on your phone.
FOOTNOTE
Warning!! By revealing your IMEI, you may be running the risk of opening yourself up to possible fraud!
This is a murky area, about which little is known for certain but there is a belief that an IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity), can be of value to someone with criminal intent. As the subscriber is identified and billed by the code on their SIM card, I find this puzzling, nonetheless it's not considered wise to give out your IMEI number, this is why they're removed when anyone posts them on the forum.
So consider the above carefully before giving out your IMEI number in order to obtain a DevCert... If you decide to do so, then do so at your own risk, you've been warned!!
