Do ye think it was a bit overly critical or are we just expecting too much from it?

No, hes overcritical because his base of comparison is way off. Are you really expecting the N95 to replace you laptop, nintendo DS, 12 mega pixle camera, 80 gig ipod and your car's gps...of course not. Obviously the cutting edge stand alone device is going to be better than the cutting edge cell phone version.

I'll have to go back and watch it again, but I think he might have been referring to video recording, he's mentioned that before in one of his video blogs regarding video.

As far as him being overly critical, I think that is kind of his function. In all reality, I didn't think it was too overly critical in the first place. He made comments like the fact that it's not going to replace any uni-tasker that is crucial to a user for certain reasons. I don't expect the N95 to replace my PSP and xbox for gaming at home or even on the go, and I'm not a professional photographer, so the pictures I take with an N95 are going to be completely adequate for my purposes. I don't feel the need to take 1,000,000 songs with me everywhere I go, and I'm not producing any movies- not even any of those independent movies for Miramax- (although I do expect the N95's video to look better than "Clerks" did...) so storage capacity and HD quality video isn't a problem. He's just throwing out cautions for those who assume they can throw away their $2000 handycams, 10 inch portable dvd players and everything else. I assume that any professional photographer would realize that a phone cam, 5mpix or not, isn't gonna replace professional equipment.

Basically, if you don't professionaly use these devices that the N95 preforms as, there's not going to be a problem.

Exactly- the N95 isn't going to replace things- just make it so you don't need to all of these devices with you everywhere you go.

For my purposes though, it perfectly replaces my digital camera, video camera and GPS needs (as soon as TomTom is compatible). That's pretty good.

I thought that was one of the best, most honest reviews I've seen.
The guy reviewed all the main bits and gave honest answers and constructive comments.

I'd rather that anyday than reading "fan boy" reviews.
