Use the GPS data application in the N95 and wait till that finds a lock on the GPS, then start route 66. Route 66 should automatically find the internal GPS.

What version of route 66 have you got?

I couldn't get mine to work until I unticked Bluetooth GPS in the Positioning Methods menu.

Exit Route 66, then select "Menu-tools-settings-general-positioning-positioning method"

Make sure Bluetooth GPS is unticked for Route 66.

After I did that it worked fine.

I didn't have to do anything special to get my internal GPS to work with Route 66, thats why i assumed it was automatic.

Maybe try a re-install and have the GPS data running when you first start the route 66.

I'm using route 66 version 8, (just bought it), works flawlessly with the internal GPS,
to use the bluetooth GPS go to
menu -> tools -> settings ->General ->positioning -> positioning methods
select bluetooth GPS to use a bluetooth receiver,
then run route 66 and it will look for a bluetooth device.

or
Deselect Bluetooth GPS and select Integrated GPS and it should work of the internal GPS automatically.

I must admit My Holox BT-321 receiver locks a lot faster than the N95 internal GPS,
but then again I have used this for a long time maybe the N95 will improve with usage.
(to use the internal I have only the internal GPS selected in positioning methods).

Personally I am very happy so far with the N95 internal GPS, just been out in the snow comparing both methods.
(any excuse to play in snow yipee.)
