N95 8Gb problems I am having.

Hi all

Finally got a N95 8Gb 3 days ago, was all excited at first this then turned to frustration.

First of all firmware was 11.something yatta yaata, I stuck 15.0.0.15 up to date on it, I even backed it up and restored it as my mate lost the key license for Spiderman 3 Doh!

I am on UK Vodafone contract, with everything allowed.

First issue is there are allot of posts on here that refer to the location of things on the N95 I understand there are a coupe of versions, this must be why.

In my instructions it says to play the spider man 3 video I need to go - Menu>Video Centre>My Videos>spiderman3.dmc.

In reality I need to go to - Menu>Tools>Video Centre>My Videos>Spiderman3.dmc

Why are the instructions telling me to go some ware totally different / can I change this?

Second issue, I have is how the b****y hell do I get the Google maps and the a-GPS to work ? as I have no idea and have got totally lost I even had to reset the phone back to factory default as it locked up several times, would not turn off or do anything so pulled battery.

Do I need to install any software on the phone to use GPS & Google maps, as all I have done is stick the Nokia CD in my PC and load the PC sweet etc

Has anyone got a guide on how to set the GPS and Google maps up as this would probably benefit allot of people who are like me, stuck.

Third: How do you change the icon shortcut things on the display when the phone is in idle mode and below them is the calendar option, how do I get rid of this.

The only thing I have managed to get to work is the WiFi but what a dragged out process that was to set up, settings all over the place, then had to find MAC address off back of phone and allow in my router.

Another thing, anyone know why Nokia stuck the back cover on with 6 sticky foam pads ?? seems a bit of a bodge to me for a £500 phone.

I am pretty happy with the camera, Video and MP3 playback they are spot on, the screen is nice and crisp as well.

Any help greatly received.

Thanks.

First, I have an 95-4, and to get to my videos it is menu>video centre>my videos, so I'm not sure why you have to do different. Mine didn't even come with spiderman 3

Second, I just use regular maps application in the menu, works good for me, go to it, let it find your location, and your good to go

Third, I forgot how you change the shortcut things, your talking about left and right softkeys right? If so, dayene taught me but I forgot, I've only had this device for 3-4 days.

6 sticky foam pads? I have no clue what your talking about.
