Gps Question.
Im sure this is a really stupid question but I have never used gps before so I will ask. After i have downloaded the maps onto my pc and loaded them onto the phone what charges will i have to pay for using it. (excluding the premium service) eg data charges every time its used etc?
Cheers

No data charges will be incurred by using GPS alone. As long as you donwload the maps from your computer, or via wifi on your N95- there is no extra cost involved. :)

Exactly. GPS is a free worldwide service sponsored by your local government's military. :)

Thats great. Thanks lads. So when I start up the gps and it searches my location, even if it takes awhile to find me it is not costing me anything? That sounds good. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Yep. I'll confirm that, even if it takes 20 minutes like some users mention, it will cost you nothing but the electricity to charge the little battery back up.

Thats what had me worried. All these phones taking ages to find locations. Thats eased my mind. Thanks again. Just one last question before I head to bed. (2.45 am here) N95 supports IM without any 3rd party softs? Have been on this forum for a while now, cant believe I dont know everything by now :D :D

Hi,
Just one thing I notice about the GPS. If you shutdown your phone and restart again, it will take longer time to lock on to the satellite.
