Without looking at message details, there is still NO time stamp on the incoming messages. And no folder view = 1 line. This is really annoying.

jst upgraded asia-pacific (malaysia) version of v21 firmware. manage to restore everything (incl settings) from the backup. no issues. however, i do not see any improvement, besides the phone being slightly faster..

That's something I can live with. Why would you want a timestamp on your text messages anyway ? Business use ?

have just changed product code and upgraded my then orange branded n95
from version 13 to v21....

i big improvement...

thanks to all that gave debranding info.. very easy to follow..

if I'm running V20 FW on 3, what's it likely to be?? the time the message was actually sent? or recieved??

Trying to decipher whether or not the message I just got from my gf was sent when she was drunk last night and just took a good 20 hours to get here or if she actually did send it to me then..

Hi,

I have never updated my software and have the 12.0.013.

Can I just jump straight in and get V21? I understand I'll have to change the product code.

What should I look out for when doing it? Will I lose any applications or anything?

yes you could just jump straight to the latest firmware if its available for you. is your phone branded? you could check if there's any update here Nokia Europe - Check your software - Device software update

if not, you'd have to change the product code. read the tips section, they have a wide coverage of useful guides N95 Tips

just make sure to backup only your contacts and messages. as for the rest, start afresh. data files such as videos or songs or images can be backed up to memory card or PC. applications would most likely need reinstallation

Lol, Man of the buggers, been engaged for 3 years and with my lass for 8 years. Not once have I needed to check a time / date stamp on a text.

Personal pref I suppose.
