Something really annoying me with the N95 8GB
Hi all,
Im having a problem that's really annoying me.
when I add ringtones or images that are not important such as application logos, icons etc. it shows it on the multimedia menu. So now, when I scroll through my images, I get all the applications logos and icons as well.
With music, it came to a point where I dont want to do any refresh in order not to see the ringtones there.
1. Is there any way to avoid this?
2. Is there a way to transfer ringtones to a place where is wont show in the menu?
3. Is there any other way to transfer music to the device and add it to the multimedia music menu without actually going to Music Player->Music->Options->Refresh?
Hope you can help me.

i think, but not %100 certain, if you put your ringtones in the simple sounds using mass memory transfer then it keeps them away from music player, think i read it somewhere. It annoys me to about pics, like when all your album art is displayed in gallery! how easy would it be tfor nokia to put in a option to only select certain files or at least be able to deleate pics from gallery but not from phone. anyway let me know how you get on with the ringtone problem, hope im of some help.

I always Tag my ringtones as Artist "Ringtone" Album "Ringtone" so they all stay together and out of the way in the Music player.
As for icons, yeah, it's a pain. I think for most of them you can tick the hidden attribute to hide them from the gallery...

I'm busy moving my music into the music into the 'music' folder of my flash drive ( N95 8Gb).
Nokia music manager put them all in the 'sounds' folder :( It's taking forever though! I have about 3 gb of music and I've 'cut' it from the sounds folder and I'm pasting it into the music folder via file manager in Nok PC suite. I'm goining to just try to connect the device as storage and do it that way I think.

The options you described GavinGuinness did not work for me.
However, I solved the problem by installing X-Plore on my device which is a much better file explorer than the default file manager.
This allows me to select every file I dont want to be shown in my multimedia menu set it to Hidden.
I find this solution working on any file type, whether it is an icon or a ringtone which I dont want it to be shown anywhere.
