Confused: is my phone branded or not?

Hi guys,

I've got an N95-1 from T-Mobile in the Netherlands.
My firmware reads:

Is my phone branded or does it have the 'regular' Nokia firmware?

I got confused because of the thread about the T-Mobile V14 version which is actually V21.x.x

I really want to upgrade, but not sure if it is safe to do so...

The screen suggests that you do have regular firmware. Updating should be fine as you have not changed anything about your phone to get it update.

No, haven't changed anything about it, beside install software.
I got it like this with this fw December last year.

I don't see any reason for you to worry, just go ahead and update. Read the guide in the Tips section and you shouldn't have any problems.

Thanks, I'll think about it for a while and then maybe go for the upgrade.

The thing is, I am about to go on vacation and need my camera, GPS and music player to work so I would not want to be stuck with a brick if the update fails somehow...

the only way for it to brick is if you had manually changed the product code if you couldn't upgrade as it wouldn't let you upgrade to newer versions. But you can upgrade just fine and make sure you follow the instructions on nokia software update. However I don't think you'd notice many changes as its only v21 and you've got v20 so I dont think your missing out on much.
