I updated ok via the PC but I have now noticed the phone re boot by itself and some how switch to silent mode via Bluetooth headset. Neither issue occurred prior to the firmware upgrade.

And it didn't fix the screen noise :(

Just out of interest. Changed code to enable euro2 firmware upgrade and all went well. All the improvements as mention in previous posts. When official upgrade for my code became available, I thought I'd reinstall just to make everything official. Although upgrade seemed to be fine, the bluetooth link with my sony earpiece went tits up and it kept rebooting. Also bettery life took a serious dive, not even getting through the day - and that's with nothing much running at all!! I have now changed again to euro2 code and reinstalled, and everything is fine again. It may have been a dodgy install or something, but if someone is having similiar problems then maybe the same firmware update but with a different country code might fix it. Also out of interest, I cant get nemesis to work with my laptop running Vista but it's fine with my PC running Xp prof.

FYI - I suffered the dreaded Menu feature not supported error yesterday and after a right set to in the useless O2 store I waddled off to the local Nokia service centre. They upgraded the firmware to the latest which is showing as 11.0.0.26 (they did say that no firmware update is available through the PC updater which is therefore useless).

They did the upgrade for free :)

btw, how do you find the firmware version in the phone (without plugging it into a PC to find out)?

The warranty only applies in the UK, so unless you ship it back should it break, then repairs will cost you anyway.

So as you'd have no warranty applicable when in the US, you can safely debrand to Euro1

Hey everyone, I finally got my phone (after 8 days of waiting despite the extra $35 for 2 day express shipping, argh!) and I don't notice any problems except the camera shutter is so slow.

I live in the US so I have to download the software from the US site? Does it matter at all which Nokia site version we get the firmware from? I'm not sure but I think the phone came from Asia somewhere.

Oh, and what the heck is debranding anyway?
