Orange will auth the new firmware, they're just slow at doing so.

Voda (poor voda branded users) will find Voda might release the first FW, but are very poor are keeping up with releases.

Please use the Quote button if you are replying to a post so we know which post you are talking about.

I had a Nokia N80 mobile phone with a Vodafone Product Code and even though Nokia had released new firmware for Generic Product Codes, Vodafone did not release it for their Product Code.

So, just because there is a firmware update available does not mean that all operators will release it for thier Product Code.

If its from Singapore its unlikely to be a Euro Product Code but an APAC one.

The Product Code is printed on the label at the back of the phone behind the battery. It can be read from, and changed on, the phone (invalidating your warranty) using a program called Nemesis Service Suite.

It dictates the Operator Variant of firmware loaded onto your phone, which is the last number in brackets shown when you input *#0000#.

The Euro 1 and Euro 2 Product Codes are listed I think on The Nokia Blog.

I backed up my phone using Nokias backup-software before performing the firmware-update.

Now after the firmware-update I notice that all my previously installed programs doesn't seem to be there any more. And some settings have been changed.

Is this normal?

Apparently it is...
I had the same, but come to think of it, I had all previously installed programs on my phone. Now, after the update I put them all on the micro-sd.

Interesting question, will post this on my blog too.

Hi I can't remember how to get on my phone which firmware I have? Is it worth getting the phone upgraded as I've always had Nokia and never upgraded my firmware.

*#0000#

If you search you will find a list of all the changes that have been made in the latest firmware. Its usually recommended to only upgrade if you have one of the problems the new firmware fixes or need a new feature that it provides.

There may not be an Operator Variant to the new firmware for your Product Code yet.

Hi,

I have 2 N95`s one SIM free and one on contract from Vodaphone, both have the same firmware 10.0.018

I have gone through the process using Nokia PC suite and for both it says No updates available.

Should there at least be an update for the SIM free phone?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Depends on the Product Code of the phone if there is an Operator Variant of the firmware available for it. Have other people with your Product Code had an upgrade?
