Question If there were an N95 16GB would you buy it?

Interesting article from Darla Mack asking people if Nokia were to release an Nokia N96 16GB, would people buy it.? She has set up a poll on her site, which has some interesting figures.

Checkout her blog linked to in her name above. I have made this a Poll also to get some additional figures for her.

Quote from Darla..

Nokia has always been full of surprises when it comes to listening to consumer feedback. Of course I'm only going by the things that I've noticed over the years but I'm sure that many people can agree with that statement.

One of the reasons that I purchased the 16GB iPhone over the 8GB is because I want all of my favorite music with me. Some video clips, TV shows and audiobooks follow me wherever I go, but in the powerhouse of the popular N95... is more memory needed? I mean I know none of use like getting that "memory full" error message, especially when we can't really target where it's coming from and what makes it happen.

The Nokia N95 in all versions is one of the top multi-media devices out there IMO and with all of the new services available such as N-Gage, Nokia Chat, Nokia Email and any of the other of the cool Nokia based applications I'm wondering if we could in fact use more storage?

Fortunately, the catalog of micro SD cards have now increased to include up to 16GB, but even though they may be compatible, one must consider if the internal memory can support it. I've often browsed the files on my devices wondering why I have 2 folders for 1 application on each drive, and since I'm no expert on what the content is for in those folders I just leave them be. But if Nokia themselves decided to increase the drive on their devices they would consider the fact that they would have to increase the internal memory as well.

Maybe this is just me rambling, but what's your answer to the question?

I wouldnt bother, i have an 8gb card and that is good enough for files, pics progs games etc.

All my music is on my ipod classic. I have currrently, 29493 songs. Thats about 100gb so a phone would be useless.

I cant see the point of using a phone and filling 16gb with music. It drains your battery, doesnt have the funtionality of an ipod (or mp3 player).

My ipod 160gb battery lasts for days without charging so no point in using my phone.

Everyone to thier own i guess

No? Why? Because I don't like the idea of non-removable memory. So I wouldn't pick the 8GB either.

good point! i like ability to remove media to transfer stuff at my mates, upgrade to a bigger capacity in the future etc.

Plus you can use multiple cards for various things, so i could have 2 16gb sd cards and swap em over (say for holiday away from home/comp etc)

1 card for music&emualtors, another for games, apps pics etc

The fixed memory spoils the 8gb for me, if my n95 died tomorrow id look to the future rather than the present for a new phone.

Nah I wouldn't not worth replacing the phone for a bit of extra space that I could get by getting a 16Gb HC MicroSD card when they're out.

Besides, I've only just upgraded from a 2Gb card to an 8Gb one anyway, so wont be needing the space for a while yet...
