Music and Movies on a Flight

I would like to use my N95 to listen to music and/or view movies on long flights, but you are supposed to leave your phone turned off for the duration of the flight.
Is it possible to use the N95 to listen to music or play a movie, but somehow leave the phone part of the N95 turned off?

Graeme

By which airline?

I'm flying with Qantas soon and they mention allowing phones in 'flight mode' on their aircraft.

I flew with Egyptair recently, I didn't try and use my phone on the plane but no mention was made of flight mode at the time so I suspect they don't allow it yet.

yeah, better be safe rather than having a disaster by using ur cp. I know that the fact of using cp in aircraft is not true. but theres nothing wrong on making a precaution for possibilty of disaster. I dont use my cp even in offline mode.
