Buyers of Nokia Mapping Licence please read

This is the company in charge of charging your account when you purchace the routing function for Nokias Map Service.

If you have read my blog wardy.vox.com then you know I have been charged three times for one activation. I have now sent three emails to the support desk of this company and have yet had no replies . Not even a confirmation!!!

If you go to there site Openbit Ltd they only have a fax number so you cannot call them !! Grrrr , No help desk then so it's pure Email or Fax .

This is terrible support and I intend to let the world know LOL . My Visa company are looking into the over charging for me so I wont worry on that score but WTF are Openbit up to. If I was in league with Nokia and other companies to take care of payment I would ensure that my customer support was up to the task . No call centre is a no no if you are not going to respond to Emails .

FAX , Oh my god how dated is that !!! I bet the poor thing is constantly engaged LOL

Take head buyers of the licence if a hickup hapens during the proceedure for Licence don't expect any support or help from OPENBIT to get your money back as they seem not to give a monkeys. Purchace through VISA at least you are covered that way.

It is illegal in the UK, and indeed many other countries, NOT to have a support phone number under distance selling regulations.

Report them, and Nokia, to trading standards.

Thanks , Visa are pursuing at the moment but I think a quick letter to tradings standards would be in order.

I have also found OPENBIT support to be terrible.

I tried to purchase a license using my phone bill, which means they send you premium SMS messages at 1.50GBP each. I received the messages ok, but the navigation was not activated.

I emailed openbit on 19th April, and they finally replied on 9th May asking for my IMEI number, which I gave them immediately. They just replied today, telling me that they cannot refund SMS payments and to talk to my "tele-operator". I have already spoken to Orange and of course they are just the payment/delivery service and cannot refund premium SMS.

So I expect I'll get another email from openbit in 2 weeks. Meanwhile, anyone else having the same trouble may want to cc Arto.Lehtonen@openbit.com in their emails - he is the CEO.

It's only 6GBP, but why should they hold on to it when it belongs to me??

Cheers,
Martin

[apologies if this turns out to be a repost, I just typed a post and it got lost]

I have also had trouble with OPENBIT support. They take 2 weeks to respond and then don't really do anything. They cannot refund my 6GBP (paid by premium SMS through my phone bill), and I never received a license key for navigation.

If anyone else is having trouble, you could try cc'ing Arto.Lehtonen@openbit.com in your mails - he is the CEO. Alternatively, and I have only just found this, you could call his mobile on +358 40 821 8225.

Cheers,
Martin
